501 Foundations of Christian Education: This course
presents an overview and examines the materials and
methods
for Christian teaching, the function and place of
Christian
education in the local church, and summarizes the Biblical,
theological, historical, philosophical foundations,
and
the basic objectives of Christian education.

511 Dynamic Methods of Teaching: The basic study of
various audio and visual methods and models of instruction
to equip students to communicate their ideas and subject
matter clearly and concisely.

610 Principles of Teaching: A study of the basic principles
of effective teaching based on the Christian philosophy
of education of growth in wisdom, in stature, and in favor
with God and man.
The course includes characteristics and needs of
various age level students, ways in which Christian teachers
can meet these needs, the fundamental responsibilities of
the teacher, modern educational methods, and steps in preparing,
presenting, and evaluating a lesson.

611 Theology of Christian Education: A comprehensive
survey of the biblical principles justifying the need and
practice of Christian education.
Historical roots are traced form the earliest commands
of God to the people of Israel to present day methods employed
in religious education.

613 Curriculum Development: A study of curriculum theory
and principles involving the student in the preparation,
evaluation ad selection of instructional materials for the
educational ministries of the church and school.

620 Ministry to Children: How to effectively minister
to children ages birth to adolescence in view of their particular
spiritual, cultural, and psychological development.

701 Administration of Christian Education: An emphasis
is placed on the principles and practices of organizing,
administering, and supervising various programs in the local
church.

702 Educational Models: A survey of the methods used
in education are addressed in this course.
How and why certain methods work in different situations
will be covered for a balanced perspective on educational
delivery systems.
Topics included are: distance learning, home schooling,
Internet courses, traditional and non-traditional methods.

703 Principles of Education: The dynamics of how students
learn and how teachers can address the various educational
needs of students form the basis for this course.
A survey of methodology available to teachers is
included in this class.

704 Managing Educational Resources: A study of basic
bookkeeping and accounting principles, business practices,
and records, which are necessary for the proper function
of an educational facility.

705 Theology of Education: Educational theories are
compared and contrasted equipping the student to develop
their own unique approach to Christian education.
The student will be exposed to paradigms of educational
philosophy, theology and theory.

706 Ministry to the Physically Impaired: This course
is specifically designed to assist the student in identifying
the special needs and applying them for ministry to the
physically impaired.

730 Ministry to Singles: This course covers the issues
associated with single adults.
The various classes of, and unique needs of singles
(never been married, divorced, with children, widowed, etc.)
are treated to equip the student in developing relevant
ministry opportunities for this group.

820 Ministry to Adults: This course covers the issues,
developmental tasks and biblical principles associated with
ministering to adults. Emphasis is placed on the adult learner, including characteristics,
patterns ad principles of adult learning.

821 Ministry to Senior Adults: This course is designed
to provide the student with the special needs of the older
person with the knowledge, skills, and techniques on how
to minister to their special issues of aging.

840 Student Teaching Project: The student is placed
in a primary teaching role in a church or school being responsible
for writing ad executing lesson plans, evaluating and testing
students, while being supervised by a certified experienced
teacher.

895 Master Project: The student may choose to do a Master
project worth up to six credit hours to fulfill the requirements
for a Christian Education major.
A topic, syllabus and schedule will be developed
with the assistance of an instructor.
