by reading various research works and observing television/movies/music
and environments that are targeted directly towards today's
adolescent.

of normal and troubled adolescent experience. Attention
is given to developing a strategy of ministry through counseling.
A practical approach to professional referral is examined.

in spiritual development of youth; interrelated, distinct
stages of moral, faith and spiritual development. For students
planning Christian growth experiences for youth.

Advanced Leadership for Ministry -Surveys a variety
of philosophies, styles, issues and current challenges for
developing leadership in youth ministry. Students are challenged
to grow as leaders and to develop a personal philosophy
of Christian leadership.

Communicating the Gospel to Youth- Explores communication
strategy and elements of homiletic theory in effective presentation
of gospel message to youth. Opportunities to design and
deliver youth talks are integrated into the youth workers
ministry at a local church or parachurch ministry.

arise in an urban youth ministry setting. Research intensive.

Advanced Programming of Youth Ministry -An advanced
study of the planning and implementation of the youth ministry
vehicle. Specific programming aspects of the sermons/youth
talks, games, music, small groups, special events, camps
and retreats, volunteer leaders, and missions projects will
be examined. Attention will be given to developing a plan
for your group.

Technology for Ministers- A hands on study of how to
successfully integrate modern technology into church and
para-church ministry. Basic Web design, digital video presentations,
computer publishing and more are introduced and examined.

instructor)- You can obtain "real world" experience
in a church or parachurch setting. Many students can find
a appropriate learning environment in there home church.
Many youth ministry professionals can journal there own
experiences and use their observations to fulfill the course
requirements.
