Studying Christian Education at Brewer Christian College will provide you with the tools needed to build and implement a Christ centered program at your church or Christian School. With real Christian Education professionals as mentors, our program will work with your local church, school, or ministry to help you become the "equipped" minister that God has called you to be.

In the gospel according to Matthew, Jesus commissions his followers to "go...and make disciples." The Christian Education program at Brewer Christian College is for people who would respond to this call by preparing for a specialized ministry of teaching and educational leadership in the church.

This degree equips persons with a theological framework for ministry constructed through critical engagement with the scriptures, history and systematic theology, as well as immersion in the spiritual practices of the Christian tradition. The program augments this framework with practical theology courses emphasizing four central concerns of Christian education: spiritual formation, biblical literacy, public witness, and lifelong learning. Students also engage in field education and participate in an integrative seminar during their final year.

Program Objectives:
The Christian Education Program at Brewer Christian College and Graduate School has been carefully designed to enable the student to:
  • Think about educational issues from a Christian world view.
  • Articulate a developing philosophy of Christian education that is biblically, educationally, and historically sound.
  • Apply educational theories and principles in cultural context.
  • Teach people in various phases of development.
  • Nurture believers toward spiritual growth and leadership within the Christian community.
  • Grow in relationships with God and people.
